We all like to customize our iPhones with different wallpapers every now and then.

It may be a straight forward routine for some but a lot of folks may not know exactly how to do it.

This brief tutorial will show you step by step how to change your iPhone wallpaper. The first part will show you how to download a photo you'd like to use as your wallpaper. You'll need a USB cable and an iTunes account.

The second part outlines how to use the built-in camera to take a picture you'll use for your wallpaper. And the last section will guide you is setting a photo as our background.

Download Your Photo Onto Your iPhone to Set as Your Wallpaper.

  • Plug a USB cable into both your iPhone and your computer. The iTunes program will automatically open.
  • Check the box to sync photos between your iPhone and your computer. This information appears on your computer screen when iTunes opens.
  • Use the photo pane to sync the iPhone with pictures you may want to set as wallpaper. They can be in iPhoto, Adobe Photoshop or individual folders within your computer.

Take Pictures With Your iPhone to Use as Wallpaper

  • Point your iPhone at the item or person you want to photograph.
  • Tap the camera icon with your finger and hold the iPhone steady as the picture is taken.
  • Name the picture file so you can easily retrieve it to set it as wallpaper.

Set the iPhone Wallpaper

  • Click the "Photos" icon. Some icons may be hard to determine from the pictures on them, but are clearly marked underneath.
  • Select the picture you would like to set as your iPhone wallpaper.
  • Tap on the button that looks like an arrow inside a rectangle (a checkbox) and choose "Use as Wallpaper."
  • Size the wallpaper photo by manipulating it back and forth within the touch screen until you have your desired shape and size.
  • Touch "Set as Wallpaper" to create your wallpaper.
  • Choose wallpaper from a selection of pictures already installed in iPhone if you do not want to use your own. Go to "Settings" and pick "Wallpaper from Home Screen" to select an image.

So there you have it. Now you can easily customize your iPhone with your own photos any time you choose.
